Northwest ISD, which spans parts of Denton, Tarrant, and Wise counties, covers 234 square miles.

And with that kind of land space, the population growth is wild. The district serves around 108 housing developments that are either complete or being built out.

So the district is trying to keep up with the growth with a $2 billion bond package.

The package includes three separate propositions.

If all are approved, the district would get the funds to add one new high school, one new middle school, four new elementary schools, replacements for two other elementary schools, and four early childhood centers. Additionally, three high schools would get their own football stadiums. There would also be other facility improvements and technology devices.

The bond election is on Saturday.

KRLD's John Liddle talked about the bond package with Tim McClure, assistant superintendent for facilities at Northwest ISD.
