A couple of old-school messages in a bottle have washed up on the beach at Port Aransas, all the way from Jamaica. At least that's what the notes in the bottles say.

The Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve has posted photos of the bottles and the two notes on its Facebook page. The notes bear dates from June of last year, more than 300 days ago.

As the crow flies or the bottle floats, it's more than 1,400 miles from Jamaica to Port Aransas, so the bottles averaged nearly five miles a day.

One of the messages mentions the sender is visiting Jamaica along with two friends. The second note appears to be from one of the friends.

So, if all three set messages adrift in Jamaica, a third one may still be out there. Here's the text from one of the notes:

Ciao
Hello
Hola
Aloha
Bonjour
Hallo

My name is Easton

My favorite band is Morat
My favorite movie is Dazed And Confused

My two best gals and I are on holiday in Jamaica and decided to leave a message in a bottle for someone special

I leave for university soon after we get back and I'd like not to

Anyway, I hope someone finds this and it makes their day -- your day

Easton
