The Hill County Blum fire is still burning out of control and it has now blackened 300 acres about 15 miles south of Cleburne.
As of this morning the Texas A&M Forest Service reports the fire is only 40 percent contained.
But there's better news about the Pipeline Fire in Parker County about ten miles east of Mineral Wells. The Forest Service says that one's now 90 percent contained after charring more than 370 acres.
There are six more active wildfires in Texas including ones in Coryell, Caldwell, San Saba, Rusk, Panola and Jeff Davis counties.
High pressure continues to dominate Texas weather this week. Rain chances will be limited, and widespread triple digit temperatures are in the forecast.
Over the past month, persistent hot and dry conditions have dried vegetation across the state. Therefore, fire danger is rated moderate to very high in all but two Texas counties Friday.
By Saturday, with the heat and lack of rain, those two counties will also be rated at least moderate meaning all 254 Texas counties will be in moderate to very high fire danger through the weekend.
