The woman whose medical condition put her at the center of the debate over the strict new abortion law in Texas has revealed that she's pregnant again.
Kate Cox tried with no success back in December to get an exemption from the abortion ban because she had a genetic condition that makes the baby likely to die in the womb and would also put her own life at risk. That's supposed to qualify as an exception in Texas but the law is written in such a vague way that some doctors don't want to take the chance of performing an abortion under any circumstances.
Cox says she'll continue to fight against the law but in the meantime, she has a baby boy on the way, and so far all is well with the pregnancy.
