President Donald Trump issues a full pardon to developer Tim Leiweke, clearing him of federal bid-rigging charges tied to the Moody Center arena project at the University of Texas at Austin.

The decision immediately ends the Justice Department’s case, which accused Leiweke of steering a construction contract to benefit his company.

Leiweke was indicted by the Trump administration’s own Justice Department in 2025, with prosecutors alleging he conspired to manipulate the competitive bidding process for the arena.

The case centered on claims that he helped direct the contract while working to expand his firm’s role in major sports and entertainment projects.

The pardon removes the threat of a trial that had been scheduled for next year and eliminates all federal penalties associated with the charges. The Justice Department has not commented on the decision, and UT Austin has previously said the university cooperated fully with investigators throughout the process.
