Some Texas sports fans are calling for Senator Ted Cruz to be banned from games in the state due to his infamous 'curse.'
The Senator cheered on the Texas Longhorns at the College Football Playoffs at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on Monday. However, the team lost 37-31 to the Washington Huskies.
According to internet lore, any time Cruz is in the crowd, his team loses, with people dubbing that the Senator a jinx.
In October, Houston Astros fans pleaded with Cruz, asking him not to attend the MLB playoff game against the Texas Rangers. The Senator went to the ballgame anyway, where the Astros lost 11-4.
A RedditCFB post on social media points out that sports bettors are now 15-2 since 2017 when betting the money line against teams Ted Cruz shows up to support in person.
