Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has become the latest politician to test positive for COVID-19.
The news was confirmed by his office, which has yet to provide any further information other than that Paxton is currently working from home.
Last August, Texas Governor Greg Abbott tested positive for the virus, whilst Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick contracted COVID earlier this month. Mayor Eric Johnson of Dallas and Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston have also previously tested positive.
The government has been making a concerted effort to halt the recent surge of COVID cases nationwide, by providing four free at-home tests per household from Wednesday, while they also plan to give away 400 million N-95 masks.
