Data from the message board site Yappi reveals that several championship games over the weekend MASSIVELY outdrew the Panthers-Falcons NFL game on Sunday!
An estimated 193,000 fans attended the games over the weekend at AT&T Stadium, breaking down as follows:

The Falcons-Panthers game was at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, and by all reports was a virtual ghost town. An estimated 5,200 fans attended the game, which the Panthers ended up winning by a score of 9-7.
Not to add insult to injury, but tickets for the game in the week leading up to it were selling for as low as 45 cents.
