Toyota is recalling 393,838 trucks and SUVs after discovering a software defect in the rearview camera display that may render the view blank or green when drivers back up. The recall covers 2022–2025 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models, plus 2023–2025 Sequoia Hybrids.
The issue stems from the 14-inch multimedia center display, which in affected vehicles has shown half green, full green, or full black screens—effectively disabling the rearview camera feed.
Toyota says the defect may cause the vehicles to fall short of federal safety standards when visibility is compromised.
To address the issue, Toyota will issue a free software update at dealerships nationwide. Owners will begin receiving recall notices by November 16, 2025.
Those with affected vehicles can check their status using Toyota’s recall tool or the NHTSA website.
This recall adds to a string of recent Toyota safety actions and underscores how even digital defects can carry serious real-world consequences.
