Brooke Rollins, a Texas native and Texas A&M graduate, appears poised to become the next U.S. Secretary of Agriculture under President Donald Trump.

Rollins, who also holds a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin, testified before the Senate on Thursday, presenting her vision for the department.

"We must immediately begin to modernize, realign, rethink the United States Department of Agriculture, responding to the clear needs and desires of the American people," she said Thursday.

Originally from Glen Rose, Rollins served as the director of the U.S. Domestic Policy Council during Trump’s first term. She emphasized her commitment to addressing challenges facing American farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.
