We're leading into this week with a decent surplus of rain here for the year. 2.34" above average. And we have a little more rain in the forecast for late Wednesday and Thursday and then the beginning of the following week. In between those systems, the weather is going to be nice.

Saturday was a mess, but yesterday was gorgeous and today will be equally as nice but rather cool for this time of the year. The air will continue to dry out and the clouds will get out of here through the day. Afternoon highs will struggle to hit the 60° mark, with a north wind at 10 to 20 mph.

Cover tender vegetation overnight tonight, because areas of frost will form by daybreak, especially north and east of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. There are even freeze warnings across east Texas and the majority of the southeastern states.

The air slowly moderates through the week as a south wind returns. Temperatures will warm to seasonable levels tomorrow through Friday. Afternoon highs each day will approach 70°.

The storm system that's been parked to our west over the past week will finally move across the area on Thursday in a weakened state. Areas and showers will develop Wednesday night and a few rumbles of thunder are possible on Thursday. As of now, I'm not looking for anything severe.

Quiet weather returns Friday through the weekend. Low 70s on Friday, mid-70s on Saturday, and upper 70s on Sunday. Our next weather change arrives early next week.

Spring officially starts late Tuesday evening.
