A large complex of showers and storms was a couple hundred miles west of Dallas-Fort Worth on Tuesday morning. The movement of this complex is ESE at about 25 mph, which would put it across the western parts of North Texas around 12 p.m. Heavy rain, very small hail, and wind gusts of 40 mph will be the threats.
The storms could weaken as they approach, but a lot of the area will see some rain, especially west of Interstate 35 and south of Interstate 20. This is when the heaviest rain will fall.
Tuesday morning began with considerable cloudiness and temperatures in the 70s. Due to the clouds and rain moving in this afternoon, temperatures will be hard-pressed to hit 85 degrees -- 91 degrees is the average high for this date.
Rain will press out of the area by Tuesday evening, but some low clouds will invade by daybreak Wednesday. Temperatures will fall into the upper 60s to low 70s.
Tomorrow will feature morning clouds and afternoon sun with highs in the upper 80s. Temperatures warm into the low 90s on Thursday, and mid-90s on Friday through Father's Day weekend. The good news is the humidity levels won't be too bad during the afternoon hours so the heat index value will only be a few degrees above the surface temperature.
