CHATSWORTH (CNS) - Two people were taken for hospital treatment Monday from a commercial building in Chatsworth where an odor from an unknown chemical led to the evacuation of about 100 people.
Firefighters went to the 9300 block of North De Soto Avenue shortly after 9 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Four people were examined by paramedics for unspecified "medical complaints," and two were transported for hospital treatment, the LAFD reported.
A hazardous-materials team was sent to the scene but concluded its investigation after about 90 minutes without finding the source of the odor, and the evacuation was canceled, the LAFD reported.
"The odor has dissipated and all readings are normal," the LAFD reported. "The previously smelled substance was not able to be identified, but is no longer a hazard."
