Two suspects connected with a series of organized retail thefts that began a year ago in Long Beach were taken into custody, police said Thursday.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the suspects were arrested around 11:10 a.m. July 18 after officers responded to 71 Aquarium Way on a report of a retail theft. The suspects were found in possession of over $6,700 worth of merchandise, police said.
The two suspects were identified as 25-year-old Keyilah Lacy of Compton and 48-year-old Andy Pollard of Wilmington.

"A search of the suspects' vehicle revealed an additional $8,000 of stolen merchandise," police said in a statement.
Detectives said the suspects are believed to be linked to retail thefts that occured:
-- July 2, 2023, around 2:44 p.m., in the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue;
-- Aug. 10, 2023, around 3:30 p.m., at 71 Aquarium Way;
-- Aug. 2023, around 7:50 p.m., at 71 Aquarium Way;
-- Nov. 28, 2023, around 5:50 p.m., at 71 Aquarium Way;
-- Dec. 12, 2023, around 5:53 p.m., in the 6400 block of East Pacific Coast Highway;
-- Jan. 30, around 3:04 p.m., at 71 Aquarium Way;
-- June 21, around 4:39 p.m., at 71 Aquarium Way;
-- June 28, around 6:28 p.m., in the 6400 block of Pacific Coast Highway;
-- July 4, around 12:40 p.m., in the 5300 block of Cherry Avenue;
-- July 8, around 3:13 p.m., at 71 Aquarium Way; and
-- July 17, around 5:28 p.m., in the 6400 block of East Pacific Coast Highway.
Lacy was booked on suspicion of shoplifting, organized retail theft with the intent to sell or exchange, and grand theft. She was being held on $125,000 bail, according to jail records.
Pollard was booked on suspicion of robbery, burglary, grand theft, organized retail theft with the intent to sell or exchange, possession of a fake check, and falsifying identification to a law enforcement officer. He was being held on $650,000 bail, according to jail records.
"Both suspects are responsible for over $59,000 worth of retail theft to businesses in the Long Beach area and are believed to be responsible for several additional thefts in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas," police said.
