LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Rapper Drakeo The Ruler was killed at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. concert in Exposition Park on Saturday night.

An official with the Los Angeles Fire Department told the L.A. Times paramedics responded to the stabbing around 8:40 p.m. and one person was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Times reported that a source close to the incident said Drakeo The Ruler – whose real name is Darrell Caldwell - was attacked by a group of people.

The rapper was one of several high-profile rappers scheduled to perform at the event.

Several news outlets reported a fight broke out and the rapper got stabbed. He was taken to a hospital where he died, according to TMZ.

There was video on social media of a fight that broke out outside the stadium, CBS LA reported; however, it is unknown if that fight was related to the stabbing incident.

The concert shut down following the fight. According to an Instagram post on the event’s page, the event ended early and attendees were asked to leave.

The Los Angeles Police Department tweeted that an incident occurred and that it’s working with California High Patrol with the investigation.
