Police Tuesday arrested a man who was barricaded for several hours in a residence in the Harvard Park area of South Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the 6500 block of South Normandie Avenue around 12:05 a.m. regarding a possible overdose. When the officers arrived, they learned a man inside the residence was refusing to allow police or medical personnel to enter, LAPD Officer Norma Eisenman told City News Service.
Police created a perimeter on Normandie from 65th and 67th streets, and a standoff ensued for several hours until the suspect was taken into custody, according to police. The man's name was not immediately available for release.
