A private investigator told KNX News that he believes Celeste Rivas, the teenage girl found severely decomposed in the trunk of a Tesla owned by the singer D4VD, had been dead for many months.
“I had gotten the original complaint that got the car being towed, and that complaint came in August,” Steve Fischer, the private investigator hired by the landlord of D4VD’s home, told KNX News’ Emily Valdez. “But the person who called the car noted that they felt it was abandoned and had been there for over a month. So. I think she was in that vehicle for quite an extended amount of time, and I also think that the car had been in different locations around that neighborhood with her in it. So I don't think she was put in taken right to that spot.”
Fischer, who owns searchinvestigations.org, also said that there were reports from people in that neighborhood that they saw the car being parked in different locations starting in May.
“If I had to make an educated guess right now, I'd say I think something happened in January or February,” he said, adding that the last sign he found of Rivas was in January 2025.
He said he’s still trying to determine whether Celeste was at the house in the Hollywood Hills, noting that a livestream showing her and D4VD together was filmed at a different house.
“There's some imagery that leads me to believe that possibly she was either staying with somebody else or somehow had a rental, more like an apartment-type situation in Hollywood or even downtown L.A.,” Fischer said.

Fischer also said he believes three or four people in D4VD’s circle may have known about Celeste’s death and that he would be shocked if D4VD’s wasn't aware.
“Now, whether anybody did anything to Celeste to cause her death, I have no idea,” he said. “It very well could be n accidental death and then they panicked and made a really dumb decision hiding her body. Even if it's that's just the case, like LAPD said in their statement that came out, this may just be nothing more than concealment of a body, which is still a big deal.”
Fischer also says he knew who last moved the car, but would not reveal their identity. LAPD detectives are still investigating.
