Governor Gavin Newsom, Congressman Adam Schiff, and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass are among California’s top political leaders who have announced their endorsement and support of Vice President Kamala Harris after President Biden endorsed her to be the Democratic nominee.

Another leader throwing her support and endorsement – Sen. Laphonza Butler. Butler told L.A.’s Morning News that Harris is committed to the people.

“Whether she was ensuring that they got just in the courtroom, making sure that the state justice system worked to protect everyone from transnational games or big banks who were exploiting them. She has been committed to the kind of leadership that I think the American people want and a representation of the values of truth and justice that we all would aspire for our children to have and leaders to look up to,” she said.

Butler added that she believes Harris can unify the Democratic party and win in November.

“We have not a lot of time, but we have enough time to put in place the kind of infrastructure that she needs to continue to communicate with the American people to secure the delegates for the convention in just under a month,” she said. “And to continue to, again, put forward a vision for the future of our country, not just what we're against, but what as a collective people we are for to make that vision plain and known to the American people for November for a clear choice that is in front of them.”
