
Authorities Thursday chased a motorist from the Palmdale area to Sylmar, where the man was arrested after trying to hide in a neighborhood.

The chase began about 9 a.m. Thursday when officers tried to stop a car for speeding in the area of state Route 138, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The car went onto southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway and onto the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway before exiting about 9:20 a.m. onto Roxford Street.
The vehicle stopped nearby in the area of El Dorado Avenue and El Cajon Street and the motorist and at least one passenger got out and ran off.
A short time later, the motorist was arrested in a residential yard, according to reports from the scene. At least one other suspect was being sought.
