Stolen car leads CHP officers on pursuit in L.A. County

The California Highway Patrol is in pursuit of a suspect driving a stolen car that started in Orange County and went into Los Angeles County.

The pursuit began around 10 a.m. in the Costa Mesa area, according to KCAL.

The original driver of the Audi SUV was taken into custody during a traffic stop when the female passenger got behind the wheel, KTLA reported citing the Costa Mesa Police Department.

Around 10:30 a.m., the driver got onto the 105 Freeway and made her way onto the 110 Freeway, where she sped toward Los Angeles.

The car was seen weaving through traffic at high speed on the 105 Freeway and 110 Freeway. Fox 11 reported that when the car hit some traffic on the 105 Freeway, the car moved onto the shoulder.

The driver is still on the loose as of 11:30 a.m.
