Sustainable fashion is having a major moment right now, and this weekend you can see it come to life on a runway.
On Sunday, a runway show featuring sustainable fashion will be held at the Melrose Trading Post.
The runway show runs from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and features local designers and student creators.
Designers are taking everything from vintage pieces to unexpected materials, and turning them into one-of-a-kind looks.
“For our vendors and designers from the Melrose Trading Post, the sustainable fashion aspect comes a lot from sourcing something that was like abandoned or found in storage that maybe was produced long ago,” Natalie Iturbe Jackson with Greenway Arts Alliance, told KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian. “Sometimes it is thrifted items, secondhand items, and sometimes it's just like random materials that fall into your lap.”
