Last year, Coachella was widely considered to be somewhat of a dud with a lot of lower-profile musicians filling out the ranks, but that was the good news because many festival goers will tell you this year was worse.

There were staggering 12-hour traffic jams getting into the campgrounds, and $600 tickets, and record heat of 102 degrees at its peak. The New York Post went so far as to compare it to the infamous Fyre Fest. No mouthwash required.

"Expect to spend about $1,000 at least if you're headed out there," according the LA Local (listen above.). Coachella has become so expensive that they're even setting up payment plans for it.

“I made a joke earlier that I didn’t know Fyre Festival tickets were included in admission this year, but that’s honestly how I feel,” a Coachella ticket holder told Business Insider. “I feel duped.”

Reddit users documented eye-watering prices, including one who said four tacos cost $102. Lemonade was reportedly $17, a slice of pizza was $11, chicken tenders were $20 and a burger was $30.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year features headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day and Post Malone, and other big-name artists such as Travis Scott, Missy Elliot, Meghan Thee Stallion and more. Singer-rapper Rema was widely panned for showing up to his own set 30 minutes into his 45-minute schedule. The performance was deemed a “disaster" after he obviously lip synced and paused for numerous water breaks.

“It was truly the worst experience ever and also super disappointing because of how much money we spent to be at an event that we really loved,” a four-time Coachella veteran said.
