Call it a health and safety fee, if you will – that is what Rhodes College (Memphis) is including in their plan for next semester. And, as floridanewstimes.com reports, tuition itself will not be affected; this fee is totally separate. They will be charging students that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 an additional $1500 per semester.
It should be noted that “Students who have not been vaccinated for religious or medical reasons are exempt from the fee. International students who may not have access to the vaccine prior to arrival are said to be able to document their intentions and are also exempt from fees.”
This is only one college. Or is this only the first college?
Time will tell.
