Denise and Michael Gill, of Milford Township are charged with organized retail theft, corrupt organizations, and receiving stolen property.
Officials say the couple ran One Stop Health and Beauty Shop at the Quakertown Farmers Market and also sold products on eBay.
Prosecutor Ed Louka says they were selling items they knew were stolen from other stores, which they bought at a fraction of the cost to resell them for a profit.
“They were buying those stolen items from retail thieves basically, who are committing the retail thefts to feed their own addictions.”
According to the criminal complaint, Denise Gill was asked if she didn't think it was suspicious people were bringing the products to their Q-Mart shop, willing to sell them so cheaply. She replied that "many people in Q-Mart are crackheads, and that’s what crackheads do."
Q-Mart is only open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and the complaint says they made between $2,500 and $5,000 each weekend in sales. Investigators set up several controlled sales with items donated from Giant Stores, CVS, and Target, that ended up being sold by the couple.
