PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is recovering in hospital after being shot during an armed robbery in Germatown on Monday night. The suspects may be behind a similar robbery from weeks ago.

Police say around 11:30 p.m., as the victim was getting into his car on Pulaski Avenue, two masked men approached him. Chief Inspector Scott Small says the victim gave the men about $120 in cash, but that wasn't enough.

"The perpatrators wanted the vehicle, also. And that's when the victim stated that he got into a physcial altercation with at least one of the perpatrators, and that's when he was shot in the face," Small said."

Small says the victim was hospitalized in stable condition, and investigators believe these same two robbers might be behind a similar incident about two weeks ago in the same area. That robbery took place on East Woodlawn Street, and the victim was also shot after handing over his wallet.
