PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A young Philadelphia man has admitted to killing a man near Tacony Creek last year.
David Warlea says he stood over 21-year-old Juanyea Kennedy last May and shot him several times, killing him.
In front of a half-dozen members of the victim's family, 19-year-old Warlea pleaded guilty to third-degree murder, recklessly endangering another person, and gun-related charges.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. on May 21, 2018, on B Street near Loudon Street.
Kennedy had just left a convenience store on his bike, and Warlea followed him, prosecutors say.
They say he was identified by witnesses and seen on surveillance video.
Warlea has previous drug and gun convictions and violations of probation.
He is set to sentenced in July.
