PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A suspect in carjacking has been arrested after crashing the stolen vehicle in North Philadelphia early Thursday morning.
Philadelphia Police say the suspect took the SUV from a man at gunpoint near 5th Street and Lehigh Avenue.
The suspect eventually crashed the SUV through a fence and came to stop in a field near John Welsh Elementary School around 3 a.m.
Police say the suspect was taken into custody and that a weapon was found inside the vehicle.
