PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — In an 85-48 win on Wednesday over Wilmington University, Holy Family University grad student guard Carly Bolivar logged a stat line for the ages. She finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds, 12 assists and 10 steals — putting together just the second official quadruple double in Division II women's basketball history.

Bolivar says she really wasn’t aware of what she was in the midst of doing until the final minutes of the game.

"One of my teammates had subbed in and she's telling me she's like, you need one more assist and one more rebound. And I'm like, OK, so I'm thinking like it's a triple-double or something like that. So I'm like, OK, cool, I can do that,” she recalled.

“I think I passed to my teammate. She made it and she's still trying to, like, signal me something and she's like one more, one more, but I think she's trying to call like a play or like a press call. So I’m like, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's where we're at. She's like, no, you need one more, one more assist or one more steal. So I'm like, OK, cool. It wasn't until after the game — that's when everyone was telling me like, yeah, that's what you have and I was like, ‘Oh snap!’”

That night, word of her performance got out. “I went to sleep at like 10 and then I woke up in the middle of the night at like 2 a.m. and my phone was blowing up with so many Instagram posts, people texting me left and right and I was like, ‘Oh, I'm just gonna deal with this later in the morning,’” she said.

“Then when I finally woke up at like 9, 10 in the morning, I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, this is real,’ and I actually sat down and read the Instagram post and that's when I really saw that it said like I was only the second woman ever. So I was like, ‘Wow, that's actually really amazing.’”

Bolivar's 10 steals, by the way, are tied for the most in a Division II women's game this season.

The only other official quadruple double at the D2 women's hoops level was put together by Fort Valley State's Tereska Watkins back in 1997.

It is important to note that back in 1989, Colorado State Pueblo's Suzanne Gonzales put together an “unofficial” quadruple-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 steals. It’s not considered official, however, because it occurred before steals were recognized as an official NCAA Division II statistical category.

Bolivar is a key member of a Holy Family team enjoying a phenomenal season. The Tigers are 13-1 and a perfect 3-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference heading into a Saturday road game at Post.
