PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A popular Philly food truck is getting a permanent home.

Bake’n Bacon is taking over the former location of Devil’s Den at 11th and Ellsworth streets.

“We have made bacon the star of the show,” said owner Justin Coleman.

“We do gourmet bacon sandwiches. We do smoked brisket. We do a barbecue sauce infused with bacon. We do a bacon caramel sauce that goes on our pound cake. We do macaroni and cheese sides with smoked tomato sauce, bacon crumbles, brisket crumbles, and then we also have a fake’n bacon menu that we are currently in the works with creating for vegans and vegetarians. And we will have turkey bacon for those who don’t eat pork.”

They don’t forget about dessert either.

“Chocolate-covered bacon and chocolate-covered strawberries with bacon shavings,” he said.

Upstairs, Coleman plans to open an event venue. As a Black business owner, he strives to inspire others.

“Owning the building and having a liquor license to show the multiple layers of ownership and what we can do to build generational wealth,” he said. “It’s so important to be mindful of those things and show people that look like me that it’s doable.”

Coleman hopes to open Bake’n Bacon in January 2023.
