PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man who taught at a Bucks County Catholic school for nearly four decades has been sentenced to 7 1/2 years in prison for possessing child sex abuse material.

Federal prosecutors said Richard Adamsky, 66, of Warminster was sentenced in federal court to 90 months behind bars, followed by 10 years of supervised release. ordered to pay nearly $100,000 in various fines.


Adamsky pleaded guilty last December to one count of receipt and attempted receipt of child sexual abuse material as well as one count of possession, after admitting to knowingly receiving the material for at least four years.

He also possessed two computers and two flash drives with illegal images on them. Some of them included sexual depictions of children younger than 12.

At the time of his arrest, Adamsky taught seventh and eighth grades at Nativity of Our Lord in Warminster. He had taught there for 38 years and also worked as a youth sports coach.
