PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Two cats were severely injured after being shot in separate incidents in Gloucester County last week.
The West Deptford Police Department said the wounded cats were brought in to Epic Veterinary Urgent Care in Cherry Hill on Oct. 23.
One of the wounded cats had to have surgery to remove its eye. The other had its leg amputated.
Police said they were outdoor cats, and the life-threatening injuries suffered by both animals were consistent with wounds caused by a small-caliber firearm or pellet gun.
Investigators said one incident happened near Ford and May avenues in West Deptford, and the other near Crown Point Road and Church Street.
The cats are recovering at their respective homes.
There have been no arrests. A police investigation is ongoing.
