Deadly shooting in Queen Village; teen shot 3 times in North Philadelphia

Philadelphia police have identified the victim in the Queen Village shooting as Raymond Lighty, 42, from Upper Darby.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in the Queen Village section of South Philadelphia, and a teen being shot three times in North Philadelphia Monday night.

Investigators say it happened near the corner of South 4th and Christian streets at about 5:45 p.m. when shots were fired, hitting a 42-year-old man multiple times in the torso.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died shortly afterward.

No weapons were initially recovered, and no arrests were made on scene.

Another shooting involving a teen happened near the corner of North Gratz and West Dauphin Street just before 7 p.m. Monday evening.

The teen was shot three times in the right leg, and was brought to a hospital where he was placed in stable condition. There was no initial word of any arrests or weapons recovered.
