PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A food delivery driver was out on the job when he became one of the latest gun violence victims in the city. The 48-year-old was shot and critically wounded blocks away from Temple University in North Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

The shots were fired around 4 p.m. on Gratz Street, not far from Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The driver’s white Honda Insight was hit by a number of bullets, striking him at least once, police said.

“He was holding his stomach,” one Temple student, who did not give her name, told NBC10. “He was able to walk and he just seemed kind of stunned out of it.”

When officers arrived, they found the victim on the ground by his car. They rushed him to the hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police are not sure of a motive. There were no arrests or any weapons recovered.
