PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The skin condition psoriasis is quite common. About 3% to 5% of people have the condition.

It can start at any age, but most people first get it between the ages of 15 and 30.

As we learn more about it, we are learning that physical and emotional stress can cause outbreaks and make it worse. There are numerous treatments that are effective—especially for people who have psoriasis in one area of their body.

For those who have it more widespread, there are new medications that can work on the immune system to help control the condition. If you suffer from psoriasis it is definitely worth seeing your doctor
