PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The Eagles will not be punished for how they handled quarterback Jalen Hurts’ blood clots.
In a statement on Tuesday, the National Football League said officials were in touch with team medical personnel and the Cleveland Clinic in London while Hurts was being treated days prior to the Birds' Oct. 11 matchup against the Jaguars.
Hurts, on injured reserve, is expected to miss the remainder of the season after doctors discovered blood clots in both his lungs.
The Eagles and Hurts' agent Nicole Lynn said on Monday that the Super Bowl champion has deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli.
Hurts is on blood thinners and is unable to participate in any football activities until he's off them.
