SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — More charges have been filed against the day care worker already accused of abusing young kids on the job.
Maggie Fruit was arrested in July after a mother reported her for abuse at Forever Young Child Care Learning Center in Lindenwold. Police reviewed the surveillance video from that day and charged her with assaulting that 1-year-old child and another.
Investigators have since reviewed the footage from all of the 21-year-old worker's shifts and discovered even more alleged abuse.
Prosecutors say Fruit assaulted an additional six kids. She now faces a huge list of charges, including nine counts of aggravated assault, eights counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and four counts of criminal restraint.
She was out on bail pending another court appearance, but police took her back into custody. A detention hearing is pending.
Anyone with more information on this case is asked to contact the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
