PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Philadelphia police are investigating a triple shooting that happened in Kensington early Thursday morning.

Police were in Kensington on patrol around 2 a.m. when they heard gunfire coming from F and Wishart streets. At least 10 shots were fired.

“[The officers] were there within seconds because they were only a block away. And that’s when they found a shooting victim with multiple gunshots to his lower back,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

The man was alert and police rushed him to the hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. As officers were investigating, they learned two other victims were shot at the same scene. They were dropped off at the hospital and were stable as well.

Later, just blocks away from the scene, police said they found the car that was used to take the two victims to the hospital.

“You can see there’s blood inside and also in plain view that there is a handgun in that vehicle,” Small said.

No one was in the car when it was recovered, and no one has been arrested. Police are going through surveillance footage from the neighborhood as they continue their investigation.
