PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The 27-year-old accused of hiding a camera in a woman’s King of Prussia apartment is ordered to stand trial on additional charges.
At Ryan Selleny’s preliminary hearing Monday, prosecutors played a video taken from the first-person perspective of someone rummaging through an apartment shared by two women in the Kingswood Apartments in King of Prussia. In it, the person recording steals underwear from dirty clothes bins, along with other personal items.
Investigators say it’s Selleny taking the video based on the clothing and shoes the person is wearing and how the video was recovered.
“In this case, the defendant entered their home, invaded their privacy, and it's very nerve-racking for the victims. But the victims are incredibly strong in this case, and we will get justice for them,” said Prosecutor Margot Weitz.
Selleny is also to stand trial on initial charges that he broke into another woman’s apartment in the same complex, hid a camera, stole intimate items, and left bodily fluids in beverages she later drank.
Prosecutors say the stolen items were found in Selleny’s bedroom in his Kingswood apartment.
His attorney, Ellis Palividas, says he can’t say what the defense strategy will be until investigators turn over what’s been described as a significant number of digital files they’ve recovered in the case.
