PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Jay-Z has 99 problems, and COVID-19 is one.
The rapper’s annual Made in America festival on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway is set to follow local public health mandates at next month’s concert.
The City of Philadelphia issued a mask mandate, which took effect on Thursday, for all indoor businesses and institutions. However, any business that instead requires proof of vaccination is exempt from the mask requirement.
In addition, unseated outdoor gatherings of more than 1,000 people are required to mask up, meaning Made in America attendees will be required to wear face coverings on festival grounds.
To enter the Sept. 4 and 5 shows, concertgoers must also provide printed proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test. The test must be within 48 hours of the festival.
Rapid testing will be available upon entry, according to a festival spokesperson.
The event, which was founded by Jay-Z in 2012, was canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
This year’s headliners include Justin Bieber and Lil Baby, plus performances by Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Kehlani, Young Thug, A$AP Ferg, and Tinashe, to name a few.
