PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A 16-year-old was found shot to death on the lawn outside Martin Luther King High School in East Germantown Sunday night.
Someone called 911 to report the body around 11:30 p.m., but investigators believe it had been there for an hour already.
Investigators identified the teen as William Honesty of Homer Street. They say he was shot three times in the chest.
Police Inspector D.F. Pace said he doesn’t appear to have any connection to the school.
“We don’t believe that it is in any way related to any high school matters,” he said. “We don’t know exactly what happened. We did not receive any calls at the time of the shooting.”
Around the time police think the shooting occurred, a 19-year-old walked into Einstein Medical Center and said he was shot in the leg just two blocks from the high school.
Investigators are trying to figure out if the two shootings are related.
