PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The man who shot a Philadelphia Parking Authority worker nearly three years ago has pleaded guilty to two charges in a negotiated deal with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
Termaine Saulsbury admitted to shooting a PPA enforcement officer and pleaded guilty to attempted murder and firearms possession charges.
The PPA officer, Timothy McKenzie, was working along Frankford Avenue on Nov. 25, 2022, when he was approached by Saulsbury from behind, who then shot him in the ear and shoulder. McKenzie survived.
Police quickly identified Saulsbury as the suspect and learned he was wanted in New York for the shooting of a gas station employee three days earlier. He was arrested by U.S. marshals weeks later.
As part of the deal with Philly prosecutors, 41-year-old Saulsbury was sentenced to 17 ½ to 35 years in prison.
The remaining charges, which included aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and gun offenses, were all tossed.
Saulsbury has a prior gun conviction from 2002.
