SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — A man wanted for questioning for a Gloucester County murder has been arrested in St. Louis, Missouri.
East Greenwich police were looking for 47-year-old Sean Lannon, who is also sought as a person of interest in a quadruple homicide in New Mexico.
Authorities say Lannon was found Tuesday morning by federal marshals.
A nationwide manhunt sparked after Lannon was last seen at the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden on Monday.
Prosecutors expect "upgraded charges" against Lannon in the East Greenwich killing, in which a 60-year-old man was found dead in his home on Monday.
“Lannon had familiarity with the victim, so it was not a random act of violence, but nonetheless it’s an atrocious act of violence,” said Gloucester County Chief of Detectives Thomas Gilbert.
Police say Lannon, a Gloucester County native, recently returned to South Jersey.
“He came to New Jersey with three young children last week,” said Gilbert. “Unfortunately, he ended up committing the act that he did in our jurisdiction.”
Gilbert said those children were not with Lannon when he was arrested, and they are safe.
