PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The holidays can be a joyful time, but they can also be a time full of stress and depression.
There is a growing and seemingly endless supply of holiday entertainment, and advertisers take advantage of the season to associate their products with picture-perfect celebrations with family and friends.
What the advertisements and holiday programs don't necessarily show is the stress and pressure of trying to fulfill artificial and unrealistic expectations.
Depression is another concern this time of year. If a person is isolated and lonely, depression can be exacerbated.
A couple of points: Try not to get caught up in artificial holiday expectations. If you know someone who might be alone, take a moment to reach out to them.
