PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Wawa employee stabbed a man who police say attacked him.
It happened inside the Wawa near Germantown Avenue and West Mount Airy Avenue around 10:30 Thursday night.
Police say while the employee was unpacking boxes, a 42-year-old man started yelling, then punched and choked the worker. The man tried to go around the counter when the employee pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed him in self-defense.
The worker managed to wrestle the knife away from the man.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.
No word so far on any charges.
