PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Another prison break was narrowly avoided after an inmate managed to slip out of a Philadelphia jail. She was quickly taken back into custody.

Prison officials said a 30-year-old woman climbed over a barbed-wire perimeter fence at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center around 2:15 p.m. Sunday.

She was a new inmate at the facility and slipped out of the receiving room because a correctional officer did not secure the door, according to spokesperson John Mitchell.

He said the woman has been placed in segregated custody.

The correctional officer has been suspended, pending an investigation.

Two men also escaped from the same jail in May after cutting a hole in a fence. They were recaptured in the city 10 days later.
