Video: Man robs North Philly restaurant owner at gunpoint in front of her 3 children

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Police are searching for the suspect who robbed a restaurant owner at gunpoint in front of her children in North Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood.

It happened around 9 p.m. on May 24 at Shauna’s Restaurant and Banquet Hall, located on Mascher Street, between Clarkson Avenue and Tabor Road.

The owner was closing down her restaurant when a man entered and pointed a gun at her.

Surveillance footage shows the woman falling to the floor in fear while she was behind the counter. Her three young children were sitting at a table in front of her.

The kids cried and begged the man not to hurt their mother.

The man forces himself behind the counter and takes cash from the register. Video also appears to show the suspect walking out with the woman’s purse.

The suspect was last seen running through the Olney Station parking lot.
