PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Wawa is recalling some 60,000 of its branded beverage tumblers over a potential safety hazard posed by metal straws.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the metal straws inside the tumblers can cut a user’s mouth or fingers. So far, there have been four reported injuries.
The brightly colored 24-ounce tumblers were made by a company called Halo and are sold exclusively at Wawa. They come in four styles: the pink and green “Mermaid,” the blue and yellow “Island Surf,” the tan and orange “Sailor Breeze,” and the blue and pink “Galaxy.”
All of the tumblers have tan lids and have “Wawa” imprinted on the side.
Customers who have one of these tumblers should not return them at a Wawa store. Visit Halo’s website to request a replacement silicone straw or a $15 refund in the form of a gift card.
