PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A field hockey game between LaSalle University and Saint Louis University played at Temple University was called off Friday afternoon after gunshots rang out from a nearby street corner.

The chaotic moments of players and coaches fleeing the field as the shots were heard was captured on a live stream of the game and is now making rounds on social media.

Philadelphia police say they responded to multiple calls for gunshots in the area of Broad Street and Girard Avenue just before 4:30 p.m. They say a male offender in a black sweatshirt was firing multiple rounds in a KFC parking lot and fled when officers arrived at the scene.

Temple's emergency alert system sent out a warning about the incident just before 4:40 p.m.

Authorities say they've located no shooting victims, but also don't have anyone in custody yet or a weapon.

The joint investigation by Philadelphia and Temple police is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Temple police at 215-204-7100 or submit a tip on Philly police’s website.

Both LaSalle and Saint Louis released statements saying all the players, coaches, officials and spectators were safe following the shooting.
