PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Three teens were shot, one of them fatally, in North Philadelphia early Friday morning.

The shooting happened at North 18th and West Huntingdon streets. Police and medics got to the neighborhood before 2 a.m. and found one victim, believed to be in his mid to late teens, on the sidewalk near a church, investigators said. He had been shot in the back and head. He died at the hospital.

A short time later, a dark sedan pulled up to a hospital with the two other teen victims. One of them had been shot in the back and leg and was unconscious, police said. He was in critical condition. The other victim, who police said was 16 years old, was stable.

The car they were in matched the vehicle that was captured leaving the shooting scene on one of the city’s real-time crime cameras, police said.

The car was stolen and had a screwdriver in the ignition, Chief Inspector Scott Small said. Police towed the vehicle away for further examination as part of the investigation.

Police did not determine a motive for the shooting. No arrests were made.
