PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Authorities in Ocean County, New Jersey, this week announced charges against a Toms River man in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl on Sept 29.

The Ocean County Prosecutors Office says Keith Hahn, 46, a registered sex offender, picked up the victim after she got lost walking along Route 70 in Manchester Township.

Police say the girl asked Hahn to take her to an animal shelter in Toms River, but he took her to another part of town and sexually assaulted her. They say he then drove her to a Walmart in Toms River, where she got out of his car and ran home.

Hahn was taken into custody on Tuesday after search warrants were executed on his house and vehicle, a white Jeep Grand Cherokee.

He remains detained in Ocean County Jail, aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child, and several other related offenses.
